During the ceremony, Governor Adeleke started singing while delivering his speech. First Lady Remi Tinubu intervened, asking him to stop singing and stick to the speech.
As she left the stage, the Governor continued singing, prompting her to return. The video that went viral shows her angrily telling the Governor to stop singing, else she’ll turn off the microphone.
Clips of the interaction quickly spread across X, with users debating whether her interruption was disrespectful or simply a matter of protocol. Influential commentators have even described the moment as a public “bullying” incident, which only added fuel to the fire. Some old videos of the First Lady resurfaced, with many tagging her action as “rude and arrogant.”
