Giant tech company Paystack has suspended its co-founder and chief technology officer, Ezra Olubi, over allegations of involvement in sexual misconduct with a work subordinate.

Techcabal confirmed this in the early hours of November 14, 2025. Paystack officially stated, “We take matters of this nature extremely seriously. Effective immediately, Ezra has been suspended from all duties and responsibilities pending the outcome of a formal investigation.”
Additionally, the company has launched a “fair, transparent, and structured review process to conduct a thorough investigation.”
It all started on X, where Olubi was accused of being mean to his subordinates while running a polyamorous relationship with many of them. This triggered many X users to dig up past posts, some over ten years old, by Olubi.
The results have been shocking for many. In one post, Olubi wrote, “I just want to thank breeze for lifting up this young woman’s skirt.” In another from 2011, he wrote, “You’ve not lived if you’ve not witnessed squirrels having sex, then wonder what to do with your huge boner because a hand won’t help.”

Following the resurfacing of these serious posts and more, the tech company took the step stated above. Ezra Olubi has not made any official statement over these allegations. However, he hastily deactivated his X account, which had over 88,000 followers, after the allegations went viral. He has created a new one with the bio “I didn’t do what I post, it’s all false accusations.”
This event adds to the growing list of controversies involving tech companies. Just last month, the CEO of Pawa Solutions was fined over alleged sexual harassment and assault. Another case was that of a crypto company in 2023 that froze customer withdrawals and blamed it on a hack.
This incident also reinforces a growing reality in the digital age: social media never forgets. Posts made years ago can resurface at any moment and influence public perception, corporate actions, and even long-standing careers. As Paystack continues its investigation, many will be watching to see how the findings shape the company’s next steps and what this episode means for accountability in the tech ecosystem.
